Where have we been?

Oh yeah. We have a blog. Or more accurately, I have a blog. That I have totally neglected for the last three months (or more). Sorry. Where have we been during all that time. Well, two of us had birthdays--Julia was 3 and I turned mumble-mumble. We took a lot of trips to Baltimore--I-95 traffic on a Sunday afternoon is just as bad as we remembered it to be from living in New Haven. We went to the beach in Delaware. We then flew out to Washington and went to beaches in Washington and Oregon. Dan told Julia that she is a lucky girl to have visited beaches on both oceans (Atlantic and Pacific) in the span of a month. She preferred the Pacific, which is natural given the Seattle girl that she is.

We've been eating crabs and salmon. Rejoicing in the fresh fruit that is finally in season (yeah for cherries, blueberries, peaches, plums, etc). Eating lots of corn. Making granola and bread for our own consumption. Teaching Julia how to shuck corn and pick a blue crab. We made strawberry and blueberry jam, with the possibility of peach butter on the horizon. Food has been good this summer.

Two other big ticket items of import. We're expecting a new version of Claude/Maude around October 3rd. Julia is very excited about becoming a big sister, although we are taking bets on how long it will be before she wants to send the baby back. The other item...I got a job! I start tomorrow and I am really excited about it. I'll be working at the same company as Dan, but in a different department (pain research). After being unemployed for so long, I am more than a little nervous. But I figure things will work out because no one batted an eye at my 6.5 basketball of a belly during the interview. I figure as long as I sound intelligent and keep the waddling/belly rubbing to a minimum I will be fine.

We've got pictures of everything, but I haven't figured out how to use the card reader to download them yet. I think it will be a project for this week. So keep checking back.
